    Code of Conduct

The DSAC is committed to fostering the best traditions of sportsmanship and respect, and to that end ask all participants and parents to agree to adhere to the DSAC Code of Conduct as part of the registration process.

    Concussion Management

We also take the healh and saftey of our athletes seriously, and encourage athletes and parents to educate themselves on concussion management.  We have information on concussuion management from the CDC for parents and athletes. A new law in Minnesota requires coaches to remove any athlete showing even a single sign that may be indicative of a concussion from participation, and that athlete will not be allowed back until cleared by a physician.

    USSA Points List

At ages J3 and above, athletes are ranked against others nation wide based on their previous results by means of the USSA points list in each disciipline.  Athletes start with 990 points, and strive to lower their point profile over time.  Running order in sanctioned races is determined by point ranking, with the lower-points racers starting earlier, and the "rut warriors" starting later.  FIS manages a similar point system that ranks athletes world wide.
